POTENTIAL ACUTE HEALTH EFFECTS
DANGER! CAUSES BURNS TO EYES AND SKIN. DO NOT GET IN EYES, ON SKIN, OR ON CLOTHING. AVOID BREATHING VAPORS OR MIST. WASH THOROUGHLY AFTER HANDLING. USE WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION. KEEP CONTAINER CLOSED.

POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS, TARGET ORGAN EFFECTS (ACUTE AND CHRONIC)
This product causes burns to eyes and skin. Excessive inhalation of vapor or mist may cause nose, throat and respiratory irritation. Soluble iron salts, if ingested may cause marked gastrointestinal irritation.

CARCINOGENICITY: Not applicable
SECTION 4 – FIRST AID MEASURES
INHALATION: If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician.

INGESTION: If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. If conscious, give large quantities of water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Call a physician immediately. Quickly transport the person to an emergency care facility. If spontaneous vomiting does occur, lower the head so that the vomit will not reenter the mouth and throat. Rinse mouth with water.

SKIN: Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Call a physician.

EYES: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Call a physician.
SECTION 5 – FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Flash point Not flammable Flammable Limits (Lower) Not applicable
Flammable Limits (Upper) Not applicable Auto Ignition Temperature Not applicable
Combustion and Thermal Decomposition Products May release various nitrous oxide gases.

Fire Extinguishing Agents Recommended: Water

Special Fire Fighting Precautions: Non-flammable. Undergoes thermal decomposition at elevated temperatures to release toxic and combustible gases (oxides of nitrogen). If fumes are present, wear an approved self-contained breathing apparatus. Dangerous in contact with organic materials - may form explosive mixtures. Explosive when exposed to heat or flame under confinement. Avoid temperatures above 100°C (212°F) in confined or poorly ventilated spaces. Evacuate surrounding areas. Powerful oxidizing agent, supports combustion by liberating oxygen even if smothered. Incompatible with sulfur, reducing agents, or other oxidizers. Incompatible with finely powdered metals (cadmium, copper, lead, cobalt, nickel, bismuth, chromium, magnesium, zinc, and aluminum).
SECTION 6 – ACIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Stop leak if possible to do so without risk. Dike and contain spilled material.

Neutralize with an alkaline material and flush with water to a wastewater treatment system. Observe local, state and federal regulations. Restrict access until clean-up operations are complete. Ensure trained personnel conduct clean up and wear Personal Protective Equipment per Section 8.
SECTION 7 – HANDLING AND STORAGE
Handle all chemicals with respect. Review the label, this SDS, and any other applicable information before use.

Corrosive liquid. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid breathing vapors. Wash thoroughly after handling. Store in air-tight, acid-proof containers at room temperature.

Keep separated from incompatible substances, such as reducing agents or combustible materials. Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment per Section 8.
SECTION 8 – EXPOSURE CONTROLS AND PERSONAL PROTECTION
Engineering Controls: Allow for adequate air ventilation in the vicinity of product transfers. Ensure that an eye wash station and safety shower are proximal to the working location of the product.

Eye Protection: Use side-shielded safety glasses, goggles, or splash resistant chemical goggles and, where splashing is possible, a full-face shield. Do not wear contact lens. Maintain eye wash station in work area.

Skin Protection: Wear impervious protective clothing, including boots, rubber gloves, lab coat, apron or coveralls, as appropriate, to avoid skin contact. Maintain safety shower in work area.

Respiratory and Ingestion Protection: Use NIOSH/MSHA approved ammonia cartridge respirators with dust, mist or fume prefilters to prevent overexposure by inhalation if OSHA PEL is exceeded.

EXPOSURE GUIDELINES: CHEMICAL OSHA PEL (mg/M3) ACGIH TLV (mg/M3) Nitric Acid 5 5.2

Federal, State or Provincial exposure limits may vary by jurisdiction. Consult local authorities for acceptable exposure limits in your area.

SECTION 12 – ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
May be harmful to fish, livestock, and wildlife. Dissolved nitrate mineral salts may cause irritation of the digestive tract. Non-persistent. Non-cumulative when applied using normal agricultural practices. The product itself and its products of degradation are not harmful under normal conditions of careful and responsible use.

U.S. D.O.T.: This material is NOT listed as a Marine pollutant.

Product will promote algae growth which may degrade water quality and taste. Notify downstream water users per large spill. Nitrate nitrogen in drinking water should be maintained below 10mg/L.

SECTION 13 – DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
Recycle to process, if possible. Recover and place material in a suitable container for intended use or disposal. Flush with water to a wastewater treatment system or neutralize with an alkaline material and dispose of insoluble solid at an approved landfill. Ensure disposal is in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
